Founded in 1962 by Alfio Mian, Fornace Mian carries forward the thousand-year-old tradition of Murano glassmaking. The company specializes in handcrafted home décor objects — including chandeliers, sculptures, and vases — created using time-honored techniques passed down through generations.
Each piece is a perfect fusion of creativity and technical innovation, meeting the demands of today’s market with elegance. Located in Murano, the furnace spans over 10,000 square meters and employs around 85 highly skilled master glassmakers.

A Story of Passion and Family Tradition
The story of Fornace Mian began in 1962, when Alfio Mian founded the company in Murano. In the 1970s, his son Giuliano took the helm, expanding operations to include 26 furnaces and a team of 80 people.
Today, the third generation — Simone and Patrizia Mian — carries on the family legacy, working alongside world-renowned artists and designers.
The company’s mission is to keep the art of Murano glass alive by blending traditional expertise with innovation, creating works that reflect the passion and excellence that define Fornace Mian — now exclusively available on 101Domus.
