FOCUS

Art Meets Innovation

Alicja Kotlarek explores the synergy between art, design, and technology. Her background in yachting and aviation has shaped a distinctive aesthetic language defined by sustainable materials and fluid forms. Each project represents a balance between function, beauty, and environmental awareness — design that inspires and respects nature, where emotion and innovation coexist.

Beyond Interiors: Objects as Art and Function

Alicja Kotlarek’s creative journey goes beyond interior design. She explores form and material, creating objects where art and function exist in perfect balance. Among her works is the Perseus concept.
Its technical inspiration comes from ancient Aztec and Egyptian temples, where strategically positioned mirrors could reflect sunlight from outside the pyramids. The mirror surface was able to bounce the light multiple times and guide it exactly where it was needed. The formal idea is based on the myth of Perseus and Medusa — his mirrored shield allowed him to see Medusa’s reflection and avoid being turned to stone.
This lighting concept is designed to create soft, reflected illumination. Its form is minimal and elegant, resembling a composition of two geometric elements: one that emits light and the other captures and reflects it through a distinctive mesh-on-mirror finish.
