Borzalino Furniture for a Private Villa on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi

This private villa on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, was designed by the Italian studio Palazzo Morelli of Todi under its founder Alessandro Ortenzi, who followed every architectural and decorative detail. The white, geometric building has a double-height living room, a wooden staircase with glass balustrade and large windows to the garden; inside, contemporary lines are combined with gold ceiling details, leaf-pattern wall panels and a cascading glass chandelier.

Borzalino supplied the main seating in 2022: Franklin sectional sofas in grey with red cushions for the double-height living room, Harmony sofas in brown leather for the majlis, the Eve Capitonné armchair in green for the dining room, Sigmund armchairs and the Nima bookcase. A round pouf was made bespoke for the living room. During design, Borzalino prepared 2D layouts with alternative compositions for each area, so the studio could test configurations before ordering.

For architects specifying Italian furniture for residential projects in the Emirates, the villa shows Borzalino's collection used across living, majlis and dining areas, with layout support provided to the design studio.
