Borzalino Furniture for Palazzo 42 Boutique Hotel & Suites in Pistoia

Palazzo 42 is a boutique hotel in the historic centre of Pistoia, Tuscany, housed in an early-1900s palazzo that was fully refurbished in 2020. The renovation kept the period character of the building, from beamed ceilings to tall windows on the street, and added a contemporary interior in teal, grey and brass with large botanical murals in the rooms.

Maior Contract, which designed the interiors, specified Borzalino for the seating and bedroom furniture. The standard collection supplied Diva, Mia and Eve Plus armchairs, the Harmony sofa and Neil chairs for the suites, the breakfast room and the lounge; the B195 writing desk was customised for the rooms. Fully bespoke pieces completed the scheme: two bed types, bed-end benches and round ottomans, all made in the Borzalino workshop near Pistoia.

For hotel owners and designers looking for Italian furniture for hospitality projects, Palazzo 42 shows how one manufacturer can cover standard, customised and bespoke pieces for a boutique hotel, with upholstery colours coordinated room by room.
