Borzalino Furniture for a Private Penthouse Overlooking Florence

This private penthouse sits under the timber roof of a building in the centre of Florence, with industrial-style windows framing the Arno, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and the dome of the cathedral. Interior designer Deniz Onel planned the apartment around these views and commissioned Borzalino, in 2025, for the main furniture and the bespoke joinery.

The New Kapp corner sofa in tufted leather is placed to face the Duomo and anchors the living room. Materials are kept to a short palette: black oak, hand-brushed Delabré metal, Rosso Levanto and Nero Sahara marble on the Ground A and Ground B coffee tables, and leather-covered boiserie on the walls. Borzalino also built a fully bespoke bookcase with double-access black oak shelves, integrated LED lighting and a 360-degree rotating TV module that separates living and dining areas. The Minerva bench, Emily dining chairs and Hug trays complete the standard pieces.

For interior designers specifying Italian furniture for residential projects, the penthouse shows Borzalino's collection and bespoke workshop used in the same room, with finishes repeated from sofa to joinery.
