Borzalino Furniture for the SEPP Alpine Boutique Hotel in Maria Alm

SEPP is an adults-only boutique hotel in Maria Alm, in the Austrian Alps, opened in 2018. The interiors by Interiorcheck use reclaimed timber, raw stone and dark metal in a contemporary reading of alpine architecture, with a rooftop pool and a vintage caravan on the terrace facing the mountains. The brief came out of a meeting at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Borzalino supplied standard, customised and bespoke furniture. Diva armchairs in grey fabric and Joe chairs furnish the restaurant; Diva stools line the bar; Sigmund armchairs and a custom version of the Status Quo sofa sit in the lounge by the lobby. The Diva armchair itself was redesigned for the hotel, with Borzalino handling the modification, prototype and production, and four fully bespoke beds were made for the guest rooms.

For hoteliers and designers specifying Italian furniture for hospitality projects in mountain resorts, SEPP shows collection pieces adapted to a timber-clad interior and a manufacturer able to prototype custom items alongside standard ones.
