DFN Outdoor Dining on the B.NOW 50M Superyacht by Benetti
For the B.NOW 50M, the 50-metre model in Benetti's B.NOW series, DFN developed the outdoor dining area of the upper deck. The brief was a dining space that reads as a piece of architecture rather than a set of furniture, built with materials able to live at sea.
The centrepiece is a large oval table cut from two bookmatched slabs of travertine with continuous veining. The stone is hollowed from below and backlit, so the top keeps its full thickness and seamless surface while glowing softly after dark. The bases are in polished AISI 316 stainless steel, the marine grade that resists salt corrosion, which also keeps the heavy top visually light. Upholstered dining chairs in pale outdoor fabric complete the setting.
For shipyards, yacht designers and owners' teams looking at Italian furniture for yacht projects, the B.NOW 50M shows how a stone piece can be engineered for a deck: weight, fixing, lighting and corrosion handled in one custom production.
