Glass and Iron Pavilion with Roof Lantern at Rolling Hills, Tirana

Rolling Hills is a residential development on the hills above Tirana. On the terrace of one of its houses DFN built a glazed pavilion on a square plan with a central roof lantern, made entirely of glass and steel window profiles and set among the mature trees of the garden.

The design draws on classical orangeries: a cornice runs around the roofline and round columns with capitals mark the corners, while the large windows are divided by thin profiles into repeating geometric panes rather than left as open glass. Painted white to match the house, the pavilion is furnished inside with white outdoor lounge seating, side tables and lanterns, so it works as an extra living room looking onto the garden.
