The Metropolitan design is built by subtraction: a single slab of onyx, cut thin and elongated, held by just two brass brackets. There is no additional decoration, because the material, with its natural veining, is already the decoration.

The burnished brass finish is unlacquered: over time it develops its own patina, which can be kept or polished back to taste, and it is what tells this version apart from the nickel variant of the same model. The two G9 sources, not included, are hidden behind the slab and light it from behind rather than out into the room. Made to order in Italy, with a shorter lead time than the rest of the collection.
