The Tall Carved Mirror is built to make a full-height architectural statement, from floor to top of frame. The lime wood structure is hand-carved and finished with gold leaf detailing set against black lacquered accents, a contrast that reads as graphic rather than purely ornamental. A single clear mirror panel spans the entire height of the piece, doubling the sense of scale in any room it occupies. Slim in depth, it sits close to the wall, making it as suited to a formal hallway or stair landing as to a grand salon. As with all Francesco Molon's hand-carved and gilded pieces, small variations in tone are part of the finish rather than a flaw. Each frame, after all, is decorated by hand. Positioned opposite a window or a light source, a mirror of this scale visibly changes the perceived proportions of a room. It is designed as an architectural object in its own right, not simply a functional mirror.
