Designed by Gino Carollo for Ronda Design, the POLIS Tall Bookcase is assembled from standard right-hand and left-hand modules in folded sheet metal, mirrored and stacked so that each shelf cantilevers from the opposite side of the composition. This tall version is built from six 80 by 80 by 30 cm modules, two side by side and three stacked in height. The result is a deliberately syncopated rhythm of niches that suits books of different formats as well as art and ceramics, while the folded edges keep the metal thickness visually minimal. The system can be wall-hung or floor-standing, and the same modules exist in an LED-lit version that washes each compartment with warm indirect light. Larger and smaller compositions are available, making POLIS suited to libraries, executive offices, showrooms and open-plan apartments.
