The bases are the real invention: three and four half-cylinders of different heights stand side by side, painted in two closely related shades, so the columns catch the light like a bundle of fluted stone drums rather than a conventional pedestal. Both tops are set into a raised metal rim that protects the edge, and the travertine-effect ceramic is heat, scratch and stain resistant for everyday use with cups and candles. Overlap the two discs for a stepped composition on different levels, or move them apart when guests arrive and two separate surfaces are more useful.

Sold together as a pair, the Ronda Design TRIFF Coffee Tables sit at two different heights on bases built from clustered cylindrical columns in two soft tones of painted metal. The taller, narrower table carries a matching taupe painted metal top, while the lower and wider one is finished in travertine-effect ceramic, so the two discs can be overlapped or set apart. Designed by Gino Carollo, they form a quietly architectural centrepiece for sofas and lounge seating.
