The Scena dining chair takes its name from the scaenae frons, the elaborately worked wall that formed the permanent backdrop to a Roman theatre stage. It gave performances their sense of place. Francesco Molon translates that idea of a shaped, framing presence into the curved, open back of a dining chair. The frame is built in solid oak wood, a dense and durable hardwood suited to daily use around a table. Leather category C upholsters the seat, ageing gracefully over years of use. As one of Francesco Molon's Italian chairs, it belongs to the Prospettiva collection, where classical architecture is reinterpreted in a modern-contemporary key. It is designed to be paired with the Dorico dining table for a coordinated Prospettiva dining room.
