Francesco Molon Furniture for the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi

In Abu Dhabi, inside the Qasr Al Watan complex, Francesco Molon furnished the new Presidential Palace and the areas reserved for the Crown Prince. These buildings of international importance house the offices of the President, the Vice President and the Ministers and receive visiting dignitaries.

The project covered custom-made furniture for many spaces, in both public areas and VIP zones, built to designs by leading local architects. The materials are precious woods, mother-of-pearl inlays such as abalone, and onyx stone. In the photographs, a large curved council table with backlit inlaid fronts and rows of upholstered chairs stands on a geometric marquetry floor beneath stone arches.

Every room was personalised with elements designed and made to measure. For contractors and FF&E consultants working on Italian furniture for institutional projects in the Gulf, the palace shows bespoke Italian production delivered for a head-of-state building.
