Francesco Molon Furniture for Palazzo Portinari Salviati in Florence
Palazzo Portinari Salviati is an exclusive period residence in Florence that combines luxury hotel services with a Michelin-starred restaurant. After a meticulous restoration, the 15th-century Renaissance palazzo has returned to its former splendour, and its interiors are furnished by Francesco Molon, the Italian family of furniture makers.
The palazzo now houses elegant suites with 18th-century frescoes and luxury apartments. Francesco Molon furnished them with handmade pieces. The project photographs show carved beds and headboards, sofas and armchairs, writing desks, dining tables and chairs, full-height bookcases with built-in TV units and, in the apartments, fitted kitchens and contemporary living areas sit under painted ceilings and wooden beams.
For hoteliers and FF&E consultants looking at Italian furniture for hospitality projects, the palazzo shows how handmade classic furniture can be fitted into a protected Renaissance building while meeting the service standard of a luxury residence.
