The Balbi collection by Sylcom is a sophisticated reinterpretation of a Venetian classic, bringing the artistry of Murano glassblowing into the contemporary setting. The 8-light version (1537/8) in Milky White Crystal and Grey (BLCR.GRY) strikes an elegant balance between the warmth of hand-blown Murano glass and a refined, contemporary palette. Eight gracefully curved arms, each worked using the traditional rigadin technique to create fine parallel ridges in the glass surface, support eight large spherical shades (Ø 17.5 cm) that alternate milky white crystal glass with cool grey glass elements — a combination that produces a nuanced, atmospheric glow. The grey tone, subtle and sophisticated, pairs beautifully with both neutral and bold interior palettes, from sleek monochromatic schemes to warm natural material-led spaces.
