Presented in 2025, Cappello da preti is inspired by everyday objects: a cake plate, a bowl, a soup plate and an egg cup. These forms are designed to be combined into more sculptural compositions, where each element supports the others. The meaning of each piece shifts depending on how it is stacked and used. The whole project is wheel-thrown in red clay.
Fos is the artistic name of Thomas Poulsen. His work spans sculpture, installation, music, architecture and design, and invites people to interact with space and objects. It has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen and the Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City. Bitossi Ceramiche makes the collection in Montelupo Fiorentino, where the company was founded in 1921.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche CAPPELLO DA PRETI cake stand by Fos is both a functional object and a small sculpture. It is built from stacked elements that recall a cake plate, a bowl and an egg cup. Here a wide, flat plate rests on a short stem and a dome-shaped foot, like an upturned bowl. The elements can be recomposed, so the stand changes with the needs of the moment. Every piece is wheel-thrown in red clay and left in a warm matte terracotta finish. It is a designer cake stand for desserts, fruit or a quiet still life on the table.
