Simbolik is the first collection Karim Rashid created for Bitossi Ceramiche, launched in 2006 and still produced in a limited edition. Totems, vases and bowls make up this series of signs and symbols. Their magnetic, vibrant colours range from fuchsia to pistachio green and from canary yellow to silver. Each piece is slip cast in white clay. Every geometric and graphic element is repeated endlessly, in form and decoration alike, in the designer's distinctive style.
Born in Egypt, Karim Rashid lives and works in New York and is known for his democratic approach to design. An eclectic figure, he moves between interiors, fashion, furniture, art and music. His works are part of many permanent collections and are exhibited in galleries worldwide. Bitossi Ceramiche makes the collection in Montelupo Fiorentino, where the company was founded in 1921. The ellipse vase pairs naturally with the Simbolik totems, echoing their stacked construction on a smaller scale.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche SIMBOLIK ellipse vase by Karim Rashid is built from three stacked elements, like a small totem with a function. A light blue elliptical cup forms the mouth at the top. A slender yellow cone connects it to a deep navy cross-shaped base. The glossy glaze gives each colour a bold, graphic clarity. It is a designer vase that works as a sculpture, with or without flowers. The piece is produced in a limited edition of 199 pieces.
