Rimini Blu is named after the Romagna Riviera, a destination that has attracted travellers from all over the world. The collection is marked by graphic motifs stamped into the surface texture. Quick touches of colour are fixed beneath the blue glaze, and the crystalline layer makes them luminous. Each animal is reduced to a few strong volumes.
The elephant is also one of the subjects of Rimini Blu Le Miniature, the edition for the seventieth anniversary of stamp engraving. The series includes a second, rounder elephant. Bitossi Ceramiche has worked in Montelupo Fiorentino since 1921. Placed together, the two elephants tell the playful variety of the collection.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche RIMINI BLU elephant figurine has a compact, boxy body that recalls a small building block. The trunk curls down in front, next to a large ear shaped like a spiral. Rows of stamped signs cover the sides like a ceremonial blanket. A vibrant blue crystalline glaze makes them shine like reflections on the sea. Aldo Londi designed it for Rimini Blu, a collection made without interruption since 1959. It is a lucky designer sculpture for a shelf or a desk.
