Simbolik is the first collection Karim Rashid created for Bitossi Ceramiche, launched in 2006 and still produced in a limited edition. Totems, vases and bowls make up this series of signs and symbols. Their magnetic, vibrant colours range from fuchsia to pistachio green and from canary yellow to silver. Each piece is slip cast in white clay. Every geometric and graphic element is repeated endlessly, in form and decoration alike, in the designer's distinctive style.
Born in Egypt, Karim Rashid lives and works in New York and is known for his democratic approach to design. An eclectic figure, he moves between interiors, fashion, furniture, art and music. His works are part of many permanent collections and are exhibited in galleries worldwide. Bitossi Ceramiche makes the collection in Montelupo Fiorentino, where the company was founded in 1921. The totem looks striking on its own, or as part of a group with the other Simbolik totems and vases.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche SIMBOLIK five-piece totem by Karim Rashid stacks five graphic signs into one vertical sculpture. A mauve quatrefoil rests on a light blue cone at the top. Below it, a pale ring and a black asterisk lead down to a yellow H-shaped base. Every element is covered in a glossy glaze that makes the colours vibrate. It is a luxury designer sculpture for a console, a shelf or an entrance. Produced in a limited edition of 199 pieces, it is a true collector's item. Each element keeps its own colour, yet together they read as one sign.
