Seams and Canister are two collections presented by Bitossi Ceramiche in 2014 and 2015 and renewed in 2019 with new colour tones. Each form is slip cast: liquid white clay is poured into a plaster mould and left to solidify. Contrasting Pantone colours in a semi-matte glaze then cover the smooth surfaces and their embossed graphic lines.

Canister gathers closed, monochrome forms with lids, while Seams features open forms with a different colour inside and out. Benjamin Hubert is the founder and creative director of Layer, a studio that approaches design holistically across furniture, lighting, objects and installations. He received the EDIDA Young Designer of the Year Award in 2010. The tallest Canister form gives rhythm to a group of lidded vases on a sideboard or in an entrance hall.

100% Made in Italy

The Bitossi Ceramiche SEAMS AND CANISTER lidded vase by Benjamin Hubert is a tall, slim cylinder closed by a domed lid. Its smooth surface is crossed by fine embossed lines that curve around the body like stitched seams. The version shown is glazed in a single semi-matte canary yellow, bright and joyful. It belongs to the Canister family of closed, monochrome forms. It is a designer vase that also works as an elegant storage jar.
