Presented in 2025, Cappello da preti is inspired by everyday objects: a cake plate, a bowl, a soup plate and an egg cup. These forms are designed to be combined into more sculptural compositions, where each element supports the others. The meaning of each piece shifts depending on how it is stacked and used. The whole project is wheel-thrown in red clay.
Fos is the artistic name of Thomas Poulsen. His work spans sculpture, installation, music, architecture and design, and invites people to interact with space and objects. It has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen and the Anahuacalli Museum in Mexico City. Bitossi Ceramiche makes the collection in Montelupo Fiorentino, where the company was founded in 1921.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche CAPPELLO DA PRETI sculpture by Fos is the smallest piece of the collection. A small cup with a slanted rim rests inside a wide, dome-shaped base. Its compact shape condenses the stacking idea behind the whole collection, where each element supports the other. The piece is wheel-thrown in red clay and left in a warm matte terracotta finish. It is a designer sculpture for a shelf or a desk, and it pairs well with the cake stands of the series.
