Aldo Londi designed the Rimini Blu collection, produced without interruption since 1959. Its name pays homage to the Romagna Riviera, a major destination for international tourism. Quick touches of colour lie beneath the blue glaze, and the crystalline layer makes them luminous. In the horse head, the decoration and the form merge into one graphic sign.

The horse head is also among the subjects of Rimini Blu Le Miniature, the edition that celebrates seventy years of stamp engraving. Bitossi Ceramiche has made ceramics in Montelupo Fiorentino since 1921. It pairs naturally with the horse figurines, or stands alone like a classical bust.
