Presented in 2022, Uncovered consists of five large-scale sculptures. The forms evoke organic elements, and their decorative or chromatic details are inspired by textures found in the Bitossi Archive. They are made by slab building and slip casting. The finishes range from earthy matte tones like stone to luminous gold and platinum glazes.
Faye Toogood is an English designer known for her commitment to sustainability and her ability to merge different disciplines. Her garments, furniture and artworks reinterpret the past through a contemporary lens. Some of them belong to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. Bitossi Ceramiche makes Uncovered in Montelupo Fiorentino, where the company was founded in 1921.

The Bitossi Ceramiche UNCOVERED sculpture by Faye Toogood is a large, organic form with a strong tactile presence. A low, flowing body stretches out horizontally and ends in a rounded, head-like volume. The matte platinum glaze gives it a soft metallic glow, like polished stone under water. Its details echo the textures kept in the Bitossi Archive. Each piece keeps visible traces of the artisanal process and the energy of the hand. It is a luxury designer sculpture for a console, a low table or a large bookcase.
