The Wiggle collection by Max Lamb stems from an exploration of materiality. Presented in 2017, it consists of six round and square forms that recall architectural elements. They are slab-built or wheel-thrown in white clay. The surface is then carved by hand with a spiral metal wire, which creates a wavy, moving texture. The palette is made of matte glazes: midnight blue, white, moss green, purple, cream and royal blue.

Max Lamb is a designer who applies traditional methods and primitive materials to contemporary design. He explores unconventional processes, such as casting pewter into sand or working volcanic rock. His works are held in major museums, including the Design Museum in London and SFMOMA in San Francisco. Its narrow profile fits a windowsill, a bookshelf or a bathroom shelf. A row of Wiggle square vases in different colours creates a lively rhythm.

WIGGLE Square Vase

Available in 3/4 weeks
100% Made in Italy

The Bitossi Ceramiche WIGGLE square vase by Max Lamb is the slimmest form of the collection, a narrow purple prism. Its faces are carved by hand with a spiral metal wire, and the waves ripple across every side. As in all the square forms, the engraving continues inside the vase. The matte purple glaze is deep and velvety, with a subtle play of light in the grooves. It is a designer bud vase, slab-built in white clay in Tuscany, made for a single flower.
