The Wiggle collection by Max Lamb stems from an exploration of materiality. Presented in 2017, it consists of six round and square forms that recall architectural elements. They are slab-built or wheel-thrown in white clay. The surface is then carved by hand with a spiral metal wire, which creates a wavy, moving texture. The palette is made of matte glazes: midnight blue, white, moss green, purple, cream and royal blue.

Max Lamb is a designer who applies traditional methods and primitive materials to contemporary design. He explores unconventional processes, such as casting pewter into sand or working volcanic rock. His works are held in major museums, including the Design Museum in London and SFMOMA in San Francisco. The tallest piece of the collection, it works well on the floor beside a sofa or on a console. Long branches or dried grasses suit its vertical line.

WIGGLE Square Vase

100% Made in Italy

The Bitossi Ceramiche WIGGLE square vase by Max Lamb is a tall, slab-built prism with a strong architectural presence. Its four faces are carved by hand with a spiral metal wire. The wavy lines run diagonally and seem to move as you walk around the piece. The square forms of the collection are engraved inside as well as outside. A matte royal blue glaze makes the pattern vibrant and intense. It is a designer vase that stands like a small column, made in Tuscany.
