Formafantasma is the studio founded in 2009 by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, two Italian designers trained at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Their work explores materials, sustainability and the link between tradition and local culture. Their projects are shown in major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
Presented in 2018, Clay draws inspiration from a series of sculptures made by Aldo Londi in the 1980s. The collection includes cylindrical vases in three heights and a disk-shaped bowl. Displayed with the small and large vases, it forms a quiet, tactile landscape on a console or a dining table.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche CLAY vase by Formafantasma puts matter at the centre of the design. The cylinder is wheel-thrown with thick walls, then incised vertically at the top. The sections are torn by hand, so every rim is different and every piece is unique. The version shown has a marble-like matte white glaze. This is the medium one of the three Clay vases, a quiet designer piece made in Tuscany. Also available in matte pastel lilac.
