Designed in 2004, this collection reflects the unmistakable, playful style of the Milanese Memphis collective. It consists of four vases made with both wheel-throwing and slip-casting techniques. Each vase is composed of several elements and comes in two versions: one with multicoloured decorations, the other in monochrome matte white. In 2016 the collection was reissued in a limited edition of 299 pieces.
George J. Sowden is a British designer and architect, known for co-founding the Memphis Group with Ettore Sottsass. In 1981 he founded his own studio, Sowden Design, creating objects that range from mass-market electronics to artisanal limited editions. Bitossi Ceramiche makes this vase in Montelupo Fiorentino, the Tuscan town where the company was founded in 1921. Placed on a console or a sideboard, this vase becomes a true collector's piece. It dialogues well with the other three Sowden vases.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche GEORGE J. SOWDEN vase is a tall cone that widens towards the top, standing on a round blue disc. Bold black waves run across a white body, like brushstrokes in motion. A thin yellow ring crowns the opening and a cobalt blue base anchors the piece. The matte multicolour finish recalls the joyful graphic language of Memphis. It is a luxury designer vase in a limited edition of 299 pieces, made in Tuscany.
