Designed in 2004, this collection reflects the unmistakable, playful style of the Milanese Memphis collective. It consists of four vases made with both wheel-throwing and slip-casting techniques. Each vase is composed of several elements and comes in two versions: one with multicoloured decorations, the other in monochrome matte white. In 2016 the collection was reissued in a limited edition of 299 pieces.
George J. Sowden is a British designer and architect, known for co-founding the Memphis Group with Ettore Sottsass. In 1981 he founded his own studio, Sowden Design, creating objects that range from mass-market electronics to artisanal limited editions. Bitossi Ceramiche makes this vase in Montelupo Fiorentino, the Tuscan town where the company was founded in 1921. Its warm colours suit a living room with a playful, eclectic mood. Beside the light blue Sowden vase, it creates a sunny contrast.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche GEORGE J. SOWDEN vase has a soft, twisting silhouette that swells and narrows like a spinning top. Patches of coral red, pale yellow and white wrap the body in irregular shapes. A light blue ring edges the opening, while stacked discs in cream and teal form the base. The matte multicolour finish is cheerful and full of rhythm. It is a luxury designer vase in a limited edition of 299 pieces, made in Tuscany.
