Seams and Canister are two collections presented by Bitossi Ceramiche in 2014 and 2015 and renewed in 2019 with new colour tones. Each form is slip cast: liquid white clay is poured into a plaster mould and left to solidify. Contrasting Pantone colours in a semi-matte glaze then cover the smooth surfaces and their embossed graphic lines.

Seams features open forms where the exterior colour differs from the interior, while Canister gathers closed, monochrome forms with lids. Benjamin Hubert is the founder and creative director of Layer, a studio that approaches design holistically across furniture, lighting, objects and installations. He received the EDIDA Young Designer of the Year Award in 2010. This red vase brings a bold accent to a sideboard or a dining table, with or without flowers.

SEAMS AND CANISTER Vase

100% Made in Italy

The Bitossi Ceramiche SEAMS AND CANISTER vase by Benjamin Hubert has a generous, softly rounded body with wide shoulders. Thin embossed lines run across the surface like the seams of a garment. The version shown is dressed in a semi-matte scarlet red outside, with a sage green interior. The colour contrast appears only when you look inside, a signature of the Seams forms. Each piece is slip cast in white clay by Bitossi Ceramiche in Tuscany. Also available in ivory and sand.
