Formafantasma is the studio founded in 2009 by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, two Italian designers trained at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Their work explores materials, sustainability and the link between tradition and local culture. Their projects are shown in major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
Presented in 2018, Clay draws inspiration from a series of sculptures made by Aldo Londi in the 1980s. The collection includes cylindrical vases in three heights and a disk-shaped bowl. The bowl can hold fruit or objects, or stand empty as a pure form. It pairs naturally with the three Clay vases for a calm, material composition.

100% Made in Italy
The Bitossi Ceramiche CLAY bowl by Formafantasma is a wide, disk-shaped form with thick, sturdy walls. Its rim is incised and then torn by hand, so the edge rises in irregular, jagged fragments. No two bowls are alike, and each one keeps the trace of the gesture that made it. The version shown has a marble-like matte white glaze. It is a sculptural designer bowl for a coffee table or a console. Also available in matte smoke grey.
